Fun Facts Friday

Yep, Fun Facts is back and I think I'm finally getting underway with things. September has been beyond unsettled so I'm looking ahead and moving forward. On with the facts.

1. I'm finished this, and oh my god, love, love, love. Can't say enough of how awesome it is. Yes, I'm bowing down to David Levithan.
Go to to look inside.

2. I'm thinking of rewriting, well, redoing the book I'm querying. It's been a hard lesson of it's-not-ready-yet and thanks to an amazing crit partner who has shown me what I didn't see and what needs to be done. I've been toying with just putting it away, and probably will, but I now know what needs to be done to make it better. So that means, I have to move on, and boy, this one hurts and is one of those moments of embarrassment.

3. Best advice I got this week: Don't let the goal overshadow where you are. Thanks K.M. Walton.

4. Fall shows are back: Ghost Hunters, Bones, GRIMM!! I saw some new episodes of Grimm, and yeah, that's a show I can't miss.

5. I love Fall. The colors, the weather, cool hats (I like hats and I wear them this time of year), apple cider . . . yeah.

6. My new manuscript is going and I'm loving it. I just have to get a big chunk of time to crank it out.

7. My new favorite song: Mean Spirits by Silversun Pickups. I'm writing a scene to it. Hopefully, I can finish it today. Like I said earlier in the week, this album is going to be the soundtrack to my new MS.

Do you have any fun facts?

Have a great weekend!!

  1. Okay, maybe I need to rethink reading Everyday. :) Glad you liked it.

  2. You know, it's okay that the book is just not ready yet. There is a book there and you've done a ton of work to be proud of. Promise, if you stay with it, something good will come of it.

  3. It's been a tough week, but it's Friday, so I'm relieved!

  4. I need to read that David Levithan book! It sounds amazing, and he's such a ridiculously fabulous writer. Happy fall weekend!

  5. Sometimes you have to put something you really love in writing away for a bit. I did it as well. When I went back to it and fixed it with refreshed eyes, it came out soooo much better and I am very happy with it. Mmmm apple cider....

  6. I've had to put some books aside and write another one. But when I went back I could look at the manuscript more objectively and fix it. As much as you love to write, I'm sure you'll do the same thing. Have a great weekend.

  7. I've put books away and later got them out and finished them, sometimes in unexpected ways.

    Glad it's Friday.

  8. You have a great weekend too, Christine. Weekends didn't use to mean much to me (working in retail for ten years meant never having a Saturday off), but now, aha! There's nothing better than a fall weekend.

And I second all these lovely people who suggest putting it aside for now and working on the new idea. You'll go back to that ms eventually and get excited about it all over again.

Glad you loved the David Levithan.

  9. I loved Every Day as well. Such a brilliant concept and done SO DANG WELL!
Jealous that fall is already coming to you-we're still in the high 90's. I miss all the trees turning. Breathe that brisk fall air for me:)

  10. I also love Grimm! Monroe and Juliet are my favorite characters :)

  11. I put away a MS this last spring. Pain, right? It freed me up to go back to an earlier project, and after recent events, that was definitely the right move. Keep your chin up. The time will come for this one too. =)

Oh, and tag, you're it! Time to rave about your WIP in The Next Big Thing Bloghop. Can't wait to hear about your current love/project!
