First thought

It's Friday and it's summer, so lots of folks are away or just enjoying this awesome time of year. So, being that it is a holiday weekend here, I will not be posting on Monday (BBQ galore). I thought I would post an exercise. Simple, and quick. Below is a photo.
photo removed. Sorry.

See it.

Now, pictures and photos can be a source to ignite ideas.

What is the first thing that comes to mind?

For me: A trail that leads to a secret door which opens to another dimension.

Now, it's your turn. It can be one word or a sentence. Have fun with it.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I like your idea.

For me, when I first looked at the photo, I heard a voice luring an unsuspecting character into a realm of adventure and fantasy. Might have something to do with the new MG series I'm working on. lol

  2. I think the idea of (the christian) God as a beacon of light shining down on something/one has gotten to me because I thought it was a path to God and then being me I changed it up and thought maybe there was a Greek god/dess around the corner. Probably being chased by a satyr before turning into a tree or dissolving into a fountain or something.

(My verification word was agodse! Awesome.)

  3. I'm not posting again until Tuesday - just going to enjoy the Fourth with food! And I see the beginnings of an excellent fantasy book.

  4. Elven assassins. They're in the trees, but you can't see them.

  5. This was not the road we expected to find when we stumbled out of the woods.

  6. The light filtering through the trees seemed peaceful enough, but Jason knew the dragon was waiting around the bend.

  7. Beautiful! I definitely imagined some sort of medieval character stepping into the light.

  8. A little girl is lost, holding her tattered cream teddy right at the far end.

  9. Love the light in this photo. Could be an angel, could be a magic door, and it could be a sign of hope for better things to come. Depends on the genre.

  10. Gorgeous photo! I see fairies about to appear, to give the main character a task she doesn't want to do. ;o)

  12. I think of two people lost in the woods together, finally finding what seems to be the way out, though neither of them knows for sure.

    Have a wonderful holiday!
