Phew!

Okay, so blogger being down last week totally messed me up with my posts. That means today's post-- not what I was planning.

This weekend I was a busy gal. Between a bridal shower and my goddaughters birthday party, I managed to go to Philly lit night. It was a blast as usual. Yes, we talked about writing, but of course, the conversation can sway with hypothetical stories and descriptions of wine vacuums. *coughs* No, I'm not going there. Thanks Simon and Frankie! Can't wait till the next meeting. We did get a group shot of all the cool folks, but I haven't seen it yet.

I also managed to get out of my slump. I think. I'm visualizing what I have to do to fill in some parts, and just to be clear with my CP, Kelly, I have not written them. I only put the ideas in my journal. :) I also figured out how I want to proceed. That means I need to get my butt in gear and write.

I even managed to set up a gmail account for my writing stuff. Ahh yes, in preparation for the ton of rejections I will be receiving, I set up a seperate email for my writing. I tried several versions of my name, but they were all taken, which is a little scary.

Where does that lead this post--my goals for the week-- to fit in writing between cleaning. Yeah, that's it.

How was your weekend?

What are your goals?

OMG, I totally forgot--see blogger being down totally screwed me up. The amazing and lovely Stina Lindenblatt is having a contest for reaching 500 followers! Totally amazing, and since she is so awesome, you must go over and congratulate her. You know you love her cool links Fridays. Now go, people! Ends May 29th.

Have a great day!

  1. Well it sounds like you're underway for some fun in the querying world and the writing world!!!

I'm currently working on two stories, another young adult and another adult chick lit novel. I'm very excited to be writing again after a 5 month block!!!

I've also continued querying which some days has me feeling awful and other days I'm able to keep focus on what's most important.

Yay for getting together with other writer friends!

  3. Great job getting out of your slump!! I usually just grin and bare stuff, but I'm on a ton of medication that's supposed to keep my bronchitis from morphing into pneumonia. Plus, I hosted a punch of prom kids Saturday night for dinner. I'm just trying to hold out and finish my rewrite. :)

  4. ...in preparation for the ton of rejections I will be receiving...

Now if you go thinking like that, the universe will hear you. So stop it. And they won't all be rejections so you better get a grip on your disappointment. ha ha

And don't remind me about Blogger. Not only did it eat my comments from last Wednesday (and they were all fantastic) my internet was out all weekend and I couldn't blog. I won't even tell you what that felt like.

  6. Congratulations on getting over your slump.

This blogger issue was such a pain. I'm still waiting for Friday's comments to return.

  8. I've been in slumps before. Too often, actually, but it's great when you get out of them. I managed to crank out 2800 words yesterday - the best I've done in ages. I suspect someone at PhillyLitNight spiked my drink with motivation. Good luck writing this week!

  9. You can squeeze some writing in, Christine! My goal is to try and hit 1k most days because my holiday is fast approaching and I'm still not done with the long night of the soul and break into act three, sheesh. Today was a good start though (1.6k).

  10. I've seen those Philly lit nights on Simon's blog and I've toyed with the idea of going ... but never found a date that worked out for me yet. But if you say it was fun, I'll have to try harder!

  12. I have had a writing slump and took a break from my wip for a month (mostly due to being busy and on vacation). It's time to get back to it! I love the story, just need the time!
Philly lit nights sound like a blast! Did Simon have vodka?

  13. Blogger is still driving me nuts. I can't get into one of my accounts (under a different email). I can only get into my SC/QT one. What's with that???

Yay, for getting out of the slump. Now you'll be steaming ahead. :D
